Originally hailing from Fishguard, Claire’s roots are firmly planted in the soil of West Wales. After graduating from the prestigious Welsh Institute of Chiropractic (WIOC) in 2017, she knew exactly where she wanted to be. Driven by a desire to serve the community that raised her, she moved closer to home and settled in Newcastle Emlyn to establish Cariad Chiropractic. For Claire, being a chiropractor isn't just a career; it’s about providing high-quality, local care to the neighbours, families, and friends who make this part of the world so special.
When she isn’t in the clinic, Claire is likely embracing the outdoor lifestyle that West Wales is famous for. As a lifelong horse rider, she shares her life with three horses and gets out on the trails whenever the Welsh weather plays fair. This deep connection to equestrian life gives her a unique, first-hand understanding of the physical demands placed on riders and rural workers alike.
Back at home, life is just as active. Claire is a proud mum to three busy boys who certainly keep her on her toes! Balancing a thriving practice with the energy of three young children has given her a practical, "real-world" perspective on health—she knows exactly how difficult it can be to find time for self-care, and she is dedicated to making wellness achievable for every busy parent.

A Personal Turning Point: Specializing in Women’s Health
Claire’s professional path was deeply influenced by her own journey into motherhood. While pregnant with her first son, she experienced the debilitating effects of Pelvic Girdle Pain (PGP). This personal struggle sparked a lifelong mission: to ensure other women don’t have to "just live with" pregnancy-related discomfort.
Since her graduation, Claire has pursued extensive CPD (Continuing Professional Development) in pregnancy care and paediatrics. She has cultivated a clinical environment where women’s health issues are met with empathy and expert knowledge. One of her greatest professional joys is working with newborn babies, providing gentle care to help them get the best possible start in life.

Gitte - Chiropractor
Gitte graduated from University of Southern Denmark in 2021. Gitte grew up in Denmark and moved to Wales in 2022 after getting married. She now lives on a dairy farm and enjoys helping out with the cows and calves with their little daughter and dog Roxy. Gitte enjoys being active and enjoys exploring the Welsh countryside and coast. Since graduating she has taken courses in pregnancy care and care for children but enjoys helping patients of all ages. She will do her best to help you get better.
Helen - Practice Manager
Helen is clinic manager and Claire’s mum. She was born and raised on the Carmarthenshire Pembrokeshire border and now lives in Llanpumsaint with her partner Peter. She has 3 children and 7 grandchildren. She enjoys horse riding and walking as well as many types of crafting.
Xena - Assistant
Xena moved from Bridgend to Ceredigion in 2023 and has been working with us ever since. She enjoys checking in on patients and providing a relaxing influence for anyone that’s a little anxious. She can usually be found snuggled up next to the radiator and generally keeping an eye on things.
